Become a Gwinnett County Poll Official

On Election Day approximately 3,000 of your neighbors serve the voters in Gwinnett County by working as poll officials. You can be one of that number. As a Poll Official at one of our polling places, you would play an active role in ensuring the on-going success of the electoral process.

We need dedicated individuals who take pride in their work, are patient and enjoy working with people, and who take direction well and are detail oriented. The Gwinnett County Board of Registrations and Elections and your fellow Gwinnett County citizens appreciate those who help us make our elections work.

Gwinnett County Poll Official Application
POLL OFFICIALS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Be at least 16 years of age and a U.S. Citizen;
  • Be a resident of Gwinnett County or Gwinnett County Government employee (not Board of Education);
  • Be able to read, write, and speak English; being bilingual, especially Spanish, is a plus;
  • Have an email address and access to a computer for required online training;
  • Have transportation to and from the polling place and required training classes;
  • Must be capable of conducting fair and unbiased efficient elections for the qualified voters of Gwinnett County;
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 15 lbs. and a maximum of 46 lbs;
  • Shall have never been convicted of a felony involving moral turpitude unless such person's civil rights have been restored and at least ten years have elapsed from the date of the completion of the sentence without a subsequent conviction;
  • Shall not be a candidate for or holder of public office, while serving as a poll official;
  • Shall not be a parent, spouse, child, brother, sister, father-in-law, mother-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, brother-in-law, or sister-in-law of a candidate who is on the ballot in that precinct.
